AMITY Co-Working is a shared workspace focused on bringing hospitality to the co-working experience through elevated design and hospitality-centered amenities. Offering a setting that fosters individual creativity and group collaboration, AMITY was established to anticipate member needs and provide a distraction-free work experience unparalleled to other co-working spaces in the area.
Located within a rehabilitated Model T. manufacturing plant designed by Albert Kahn, AMITY utilizes many features of the building’s original shell, including divided-light window walls, exposed joists, and concrete floors. These historical elements were all instrumental in developing a workplace design strategy that relies on natural light and a variety of flexible spaces to promote focus, collaboration, and well-being.
AMITY’s program is situated around a central core consisting of small meeting rooms, phone booths, and a collaboration zone. The spaces surrounding the core alternate between work, lounge, and amenity spaces that provide various levels of formality; from window-facing bar seating, to sofas, collaborating tables, fixed desks, a kitchen, and the mezzanine for large group events. Technology such as monitors, televisions, and smart projectors are scattered throughout the space to allow entire teams to collaborate and present with one another. These spaces adapt with workers and enable them the flexibility to move around as their needs shift throughout the days and weeks.
