As the first Equinox club in Michigan, the Bloomfield Hills location is designed to encourage and challenge members to feel motivated, healthy, and elite. This club introduces the Equinox brand to active adults in the Metro Detroit while representing its international identity.
The design experience is inspired by the world-renowned Cranbrook Academy in Bloomfield Hills, layering the space with courtyards, water features, expansive sight-lines, intimate areas for respite, and materials indicative of Cranbrook’s character. This design story is told starting with an entrance vestibule clad in charred wood, and continues through to the expansive skylights featured in the pool. Natural light floods the strength floor through 63-foot long skylights above. Group Fitness, Pilates, Yoga, Cycling, and Barre studios line the strength floor’s perimeter, providing them expansive, full-height panoramic views across the club. Luxury locker rooms establish privacy away from the high energy of the cardio and strength spaces, serving as a transition space to the tranquility of the spa and indoor salt-water pool. Equinox Bloomfield Hills truly embodies the Equinox brand; blending nature, art, and fitness into a seamless world as it intimately shapes its users.
